For Support, For Company, For You.
Surrey Listening and Companionship Service was founded by Anne Clarke, a qualified nurse with over 38 years of experience caring for people at their most vulnerable. With a long career in palliative and end-of-life care, Anne has spent decades offering emotional support to individuals and families during some of life’s most difficult moments.
Anne also completed listening training, which has shaped the gentle, grounded, compassionate way she supports others. Her skill lies in creating a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly, be yourself, and feel truly heard.
Having volunteered widely in the local community, Anne has seen how loneliness and life changes can impact emotional wellbeing. Surrey Listening and Companionship Service was created to make human connection simple, accessible and affordable.

If you’d like to talk, arrange a visit or ask a question, we’re here to help.
A listening service provides a safe, confidential space to talk openly about anything on your mind. It is not counselling or therapy. It is compassionate, supportive conversation with someone trained to listen without judgement.
Companionship focuses on friendly company, conversation and gentle outings. It is ideal for anyone who wants regular social contact or a familiar face to visit. The listening service focuses more on emotional support and talking through feelings or life challenges.
Anyone who feels lonely, overwhelmed, isolated or simply in need of someone to talk to. It is also suitable for older adults, carers, people navigating bereavement, or anyone going through life changes.
